Moose Jaw introduces "ADOPT"-A-Firefighter Program
May 25 2006 - Moose Jaw

In order to promote fire prevention and help educate our young people as to the appropriate action to be taken in the event of an emergency, the Moose Jaw Fire Fighters have introduced a new program to schools wishing to participate called “ADOPT”-A-Firefighter.

“Adopted” firefighters for example would/could conduct such activities as follows:

1. Present the school with a framed picture with a brief description of themselves, this could be done at an assembly so that the whole school will know their firefighter.

2. Join the school for lunch.

3. Run a friendly competition with other schools.

4. Visit classrooms to re-enforce fire safety lessons.

5. Drop by at recess to play basketball, etc. with students.
