Saskatoon Fire Fighters purchase equipment for Parkridge Centre
Apr 24 2006 - Saskatoon

The Saskatoon Fire Fighters Pediatric Fund has purchased a tracking system and lift for the children at Parkridge Centre. The lift is capable of lifting 400 lbs. and is very quiet and easy to use. It allows staff to move children in a safer manner for both the child and the staff member.

The Pediatric Fund has also participated in Parkridge Centre’s Summer Buddy Program for the last eight years. During the summer months University Students are brought into the facility to take the kids outside. They do activities like swimming, crafts, going to the park, and out for walks.

Parkridge Centre is a long term care facility located on the west side of Saskatoon. It is home to over 240 residents ranging in age from preschool to over 100 years of age. Parkridge Centre is a heavy care facility and many of its residents require specialized care.
